Route 66 Mainstreet is a local area non-profit affiliate of the Mainstreet of America and Oklahoma Main Street programs. Combining historic preservation and revitalization efforts with powerful economic stimulation, Main Street programs restore the core assets of our communities and enhance the quality of life for our community.

Focusing on the Route 66 corridor through Southwest Tulsa, Tulsa Route 66 Main Street follows the National Main Street Center’s guiding principles and Four-Point Approach to revitalization: Design, Economic Vitality, Promotion and Organization. Please see the four points listed below:

  1. Organization: development of a volunteer base; funding; communications, and developing a positive image for the district.
  2. Design: Improving the physical environment of the historic commercial district; beautification; encouragement of appropriate design and historic preservation.
  3. Economic Vitality: Edifying the business environment and expanding the economic base.
  4. Promotions: Marketing the historic district as a destination; planning activities, and events that people to the area.

Our Route 66 district/corridor boundaries are from Cyrus Avery Bridge (11th street Bridge) down Route 66/Southwest Blvd. to 33rd West Avenue.
